Progress is Made

So today I sat down at about 7:30 pm to work for a little while on my outline for the novel. I am very excited. I've gotten some really good ideas from my colleagues at work as well as my friends. I feel that this story is really going to evolve into something great.

I am about half way through the outline that I will be handing out to be read by my colleagues and friends in the TFA program at Buff State. I hope to get some great feedback from them and I hope that I can use that feedback to help my chances at getting published and having my book distributed. It is my overall goal to have this novel hit the NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER LIST!

This is something that I have noticed as I am writing; ideas come from everywhere. I will be very happy with something that I created in a previous sit down session, but then when I sit back down to write again, I get a better idea and want to change it. I feel that my OCD for writing is pretty cool.

I think up better motivations for my characters as well as better character traits for the characters that I will be having appear in the text. Writing is pretty exciting, and thus far I am having a great time doing the
'prewriting' for this novel, and I hope that when I start actually drafting out the real portions of the story that they will just as good as I believe the outline to be.

April 17, 2010

Hello world, today is the first day of the rest of my writing career. Here is a little background. My name is John Szablewski and I am a Freshman (almost Sophomore) at Buffalo State College. I am majoring in Television and film arts, and I hope to one day work in the Film Industry.

I am very interested in writing a novel, and last week I began the outline for this project that I am going to be working on for most of the next few months. I'm planning a twenty-four chapter novel. I am not going to tell you what the novel is about, but I plan on blogging about my experience writing the novel.

The outline for my story is pretty exciting. It is actually the first that that I have ever written a true outline for a story, usually I just sit at a computer and type mindlessly and hope that it makes some sense when I get finished. Sadly, I have always had some great ideas but they don't always make sense or hold there own when it comes to being a stand alone story. This is different! This story that I am planning is very exciting, and I hope that I will be able to actually sell the story to a publisher and make some money while entertaining the world with a new type of story. I can guarantee that there has never been a fictional novel written on the topic and theme that I have chosen.

So. . .Welcome
